WESCAR OKTIRE Challenge Series - Kumho OK Tire 100 Results:
July 16, 2005,
Goldpan Speedway - Quesnel , B.C.

Beautiful weather made a timely appearance for the running of the WESCAR OK Tire Change Series - Kumho OK TIRE 100 at Goldpan Speedway. The event ended up being an unusual caution filled race with 6 Yellow flags displayed. Goldpan Speedway is a tight flat 1/4 mile track so it was a typical Saturday night bullpen of stockcar racing action. All drivers were able to take the checkered flag except for the replacement driver Mike Langielle who replaced Dennis Adelman. The #72 Langielle retired from the race in last half after running high off the track into the grass at the end of the front straight. Peter Ernst in his Fountain Tire #23 qualified 2nd fastest but, with the 10% inversion determined by the highly touted and often questioned WESCAR wheel, he ended up on the pole with fastest qualifier #0 Brett Young holding the outside pole position beside him.

The #23 Ernst drove from flag to flag , never losing the lead spot, to win the 100 lap Kumho OK TIRE 100. He was able to avoid all the carnage behind him due to the frequent, yet uncharacteristic, bumper banging that persisted throughout the event. No cars were severely damaged from all the doinking taking place, though a number of cars did require a pit stop to replace cut down tires. Gary MacCarthy in the #92 Goodwrench GM car came a close second as he darted his way throught the field missing the many spins.

The #52 Garnet Grimard Napa Autoparts car entered the weekend first in the WESCAR point battle, however, he leaves fifth, after contact in an earlier Dash race with the #33 Darcy Klassen Monte Carlo setting a tone for Garnet's day. The new points leader is now #27 Arnie Kunka in his Paint Depot car followed by the 2004 Series champ #5 Bob Williams in his Turtle Wax Chev.
